Before discovering the soft and poetic world that defines La Monita Studio today, I explored many styles and techniques. 

This journey, made of trials, detours, and curiosity, allowed me to shape a visual language that reflects me: round, sensitive, and luminous illustrations.

The years I spent traveling and living in different countries also nourished my gaze: they broadened my sensitivity, enriched my palette, and strengthened my desire to celebrate the diversity of women.

Based in Angers, I create a committed and inclusive world, driven by the desire to represent women in all their plurality: varied skin tones, multiple hair textures, different identities, and different stories. Even though all my silhouettes share the roundness that is my signature, each carries its own nuance, its own presence.

My characters are drawn with simple outlines and an almost childlike aesthetic. Yet, they carry deeply adult messages: women who are free, natural, and confident. The minimalism of my lines is not suggestive at all: it is soft, modest, and symbolic — a way of showing the body as a space of freedom, tenderness, and self-acceptance.

I create all my illustrations entirely digitally, drawing each shape and expression with particular attention to movement, emotion, and softness. I love imagining posters and stationery that accompany people in their little everyday moments.

And sometimes, among my free and luminous women, little cats or treats appear. It is my way of bringing round, soft, and cute characters to life. I love them way too much to stop drawing them — I tried, but it didn't last very long! They bring an extra touch of lightness and comfort to the heart of my collections.

The name La Monita came naturally: a little Spanish-speaking touch that echoes an important part of my history. A soft, simple, and warm name, which perfectly reflects the spirit of my world.
